If you are confused by the comment before mine, you are not the only one. I wouldn't consider telling someone "it's artistic expression," followed by "try adding some expression" to be critisism of a very constructive nature.
So to counter the previous comment (in opinion and in proper grammar), I think this is very well done and conveys expression candidly. Because you are not smiling or frowning does not mean, on any level, that it lacks expression. Unless you are a five-year-old art critic, in which case, this piece may appear to not be shiny enough.
